Located at the foothills of the Ozark Mountains, Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas is a small community located on the banks of the Strawberry River. The community is named for the "horseshoe bend" that the river takes just south of town. The area is rich in forests, rolling hills, water sources, including the 5 crystal clear lakes. This is a small town where life is simpler, most people know one another, and folks still wave as they pass you in the car. Towns with more amenities are within easy (and scenic) driving distance. A cup of coffee is still 75 cents! Boating, fishing, bird watching, hiking and enjoying nature are the true amenities here. Diamond Lake has a beautiful white sand beach where you can cool off in the summer heat. Lightning bugs abound to light up the evening sky.
There are two spectacular golf courses, a mini-golf course, several local cafe's and small shops. There are active clubs and civic organizations. The Box Hound Marina provides beach and boating access to Crown Lake, the largest lake in the community as well as affordable camping (RV & tent spaces). The local library has a good selection as well as Internet access.
While this is a small community, it has its own police and fire departments. There is a retirement community as well as a Health & Rehabilitation facility. Municpal water and sewer are available to most (but not all) lots in the community.
